Maintenance & Watch Officer
Created in the former regional headquarters of the National Bank of Belgium, the Mosa Ballet School comes to life in this emblematic building located on Place Saint-Paul in the centre of Liège (Belgium). In total, more than 10,000 m² of infrastructure have been radically transformed into educational, cultural and sporting spaces in order to offer young dancers and teaching staff a living and working environment that makes them want to surpass themselves every day.
Under the supervision of the Infrastructure, Venues and Carbon Print Manager, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of the school's infrastructure and equipment, as well as for monitoring the building and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Your main tasks are as follows:
Management and maintenance of the infrastructure
• Carrying out and monitoring regular maintenance operations or one-off interventions (repairs, compliance, etc.) of the installations for the smooth running of the school
• Management of IT systems linked to the infrastructure (access control, fire, cameras, room reservation system, etc.)
• Supporting regular (e.g. daily cleaning of the premises) and occasional (e.g. maintenance of equipment) contractors
• Taking out and putting back garbage bins and/or containers, and bulky items
• Participating in moving and/or handling work
• Participating in ancillary tasks, in particular the maintenance of spaces before the opening to the public
• Participate in maintaining the cleanliness of the site (waste collection, replacement of bin bags, daily replenishment of disinfectant products, etc.) and ensure the maintenance of the pavements and surroundings in all seasons (leaf collection, snow removal, etc.).
Security
• Opening and closing doors and access routes to the school
• Checking emergency blocks, fire alarms and other safety-related devices
• Regularly reviewing public areas, living, dancing and storage areas and facilities to ensure compliance and proper operation. Carrying out preventive diagnosis of any potential malfunctions
• Ensuring the surveillance and access control functions of the spaces and enforcing the regulations
• Intervene in the event of an attack on people or property: break-ins, damage, theft, accidents, etc., by implementing the instructions provided for this purpose
• Removing doubts in the event of an intrusion alarm
• Participating in the information/orientation of students and the public if necessary
• Ensuring that movement and the use of common areas are carried out in a calm manner and in accordance with the rules of social life
• Helping and assisting employees / workers with student hygiene and safety
• Active participation in fire drills and evacuation measures
Carbon footprint
• Active participation in measures to reduce the carbon footprint of the Mosa
Veille
• In rotation with the other team members, accommodation in the building in order to ensure a permanent presence
• Relay of the educational team in case of emergency to manage with the students (trip to the hospital etc.)
This function participates on an ad hoc basis in the Quand On Danse programme.
This team work requires a high degree of availability and irregular working hours, with a variable amplitude depending on the events programmed.
